THE OPPOSITION

It's beginning to look like a familiar story for Derby County fans as their form tails off at just the wrong stage of the season.

Under Frank Lampard, The Rams began the season brightly, in no small part due to the form of their exciting young loanees Mason Mount, Harry Wilson, and Fiyako Tomori (pictured above), enjoying a memorable Carabao Cup run which included victory over Manchester United and narrow defeat to Chelsea.

However, 2019 has seen just four league victories as the Play-Off chasing pack closes in. Away from home, The Rams haven't won in the league since a remarkable 4-3 win at Norwich City in late December. At home their form has held up but, with five of their last eight matches away from Pride Park, Lampard's side will need to pick up points on the road if they are to avoid yet another near miss in the Play-Off race.

TEAM NEWS

Yoann Barbet will be missing for a few weeks after picking up an ankle injury against Wigan Athletic last Saturday. Daniel Bentley is closing in on a return while Rico Henry is available after playing an hour for Brentford B on Tuesday in France.

For The Rams, Curtis Davis is out with an achilles injury but the likes of Mason Mount, Craig Bryson, Tom Lawrence and Mason Bennett are all coming back into contention after absenses.

THE MANAGER

Frank Lampard played in midfield throughout his career for West Ham United, Chelsea, Manchester City and New York City FC. Three-time Chelsea Player of the Year, he racked up over 400 appearances for The Blues during a 14-year spell in West London.

Capped 106 times by England, he scored 29 goals at international level and represented England at a handful of major tournaments. He stepped in management for the first time at the beginning of this season, having taken up football pundit work for both BT Sport and the BBC.
