The Opposition

Bolton welcome The Bees on Saturday, knowing they will be playing League One football next season. Starting the campaign with three wins and a draw, it looked like Wanderers were looking up not down for 2019. Just five wins since then have left the side second bottom, just above Ipswich Town.

This weekend's home side have lost their last four matches, scoring only once in April so far. That was during a 2-1 loss hosting Ipswich Town, followed by a couple of 2-0 defeats to Middlesbrough and Aston Villa. Derby County handed them the biggest hiding of that run, netting four without reply on 13 April.

Former Bees forward Clayton Donaldson joined up in the summer, alongside Jack Hobbs from Forest and Gary O'Neil from Bristol City. Players coming in on loan deals included Everton's Joe Williams and Jonathan Grounds from Birmingham City.

Goalkeeper Ben Amos joined Millwall on loan last July, following permanent transfers for several First Team players. Dorian Dervitte signed for Charleroi after ending his contract in the summer, Karl Henry and Mark Howard doing the same.

Team News

Daniel Bentley and Said Benrahma will definitely miss out tomorrow through injury. Both Josh McEachran and Lewis Macleod have also missed recent games for The Bees. Romaine Sawyers has been in and out of the side recently and could be a doubt for tomorrow's match.

Henrik Dalsgaard is available to return following his one-match ban after his red card at Millwall.

Bolton are missing Mark Beevers and Joe Williams, both have hamstring injuries. David Wheater and Jack Hobbs are major doubts after both have struggled in recent weeks to overcome back and groin injuries.

The Manager

Phil Parkinson played more than 350 EFL games for Reading during an 18-year playing career that started at Southampton and also took him to Bury. He moved into management with Colchester United in 2003, winning promotion with the Essex side in 2006 before taking over at Hull City. Parkinson lasted less than six months on Humberside, going on to join Charlton Athletic as Assistant Manager to Alan Pardew. After taking over in November 2008, he couldn't stave off relegation and lost in the League One Play-Offs a year later.

Parkinson was sacked in January 2011, arriving at Bradford later that year. The Bantams finished 18th in his first season in charge but he won promotion the following campaign, at the same time becoming the first manager to take a fourth-tier team to a major Wembley final when The Bantams faced Swansea City in the EFL Cup Final. Parkinson left Valley Parade in 2016, after nearly five years with the club, and led Bolton back to the second tier in his first season in charge before miraculously keeping them up last term.
