Kamohelo Mokotjo earned his 11th cap for South Africa as Bafana Bafana were held to a 0-0 draw by Libya in Durban.
At a soaking Moses Mabhida Stadium yesterday afternoon, it was the visitors who created the better of the chances; home goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune far the busier in the opening 45 minutes. South Africa's best chance came from a corner as Vincent Pule saw his effort cleared off the line.
The second-half was a more even affair with neither side managing to create too much going forward. The best chance fell to Libyan dangerman Ali Mohammed but he couldn't capitalise on Khune's mistake. At the other end, Keagan Dolly missed a glorious late chance to win it, blasting over after beating the offside trap.
The draw means it's as you were at the top of Group E with Libya ahead of Bafana Bafana on goal difference. Nigeria's easy victory over Seychelles, who South Africa will face twice in four days next month, leaves them just a point behind in third.
Kamohelo, who played the full 90 minutes on Saturday, will now return to West London ahead of next weekend's game against Wigan Athletic.
