Brentford Women’s FC endured a Sunday to forget as both teams were soundly beaten at Bedfont Sports last weekend.
The First-Team went into their game with Sutton United Ladies looking to build on the previous week’s impressive victory over Actonians Development. However, they found the South West London side far too strong; Keisha Small scoring twice in the first-half to put the away side on top before they ran riot after the break.
Faye Butler volleyed home a third before Marta Perez ended the game as a contest with a close-range fourth. Ella Bale then got her name on the score-sheet but the day was to belong to Small as she completed her hat-trick late on. Extra gloss was added as Amy Reader netted in the dying minutes to make the final score 7-0 to the visitors.
Brentford drop to seventh after the defeat with three points from their opening four games. Justin Ali and Nathan Mobey’s side will hope for better this Sunday as they head to Hanworth Villains to take on Hampton and Richmond Ladies, kick-off 2pm.
The Development Team’s baptism of fire in Division Two North continued with a 5-0 defeat to Camden Town Ladies. Tessa Craver scored three with Mia Barry and Nicole Moore also on target, leaving The Bees still looking for their first point since promotion in May. That search will continue on Sunday as they host second-placed Enfield Town Ladies at Bedfont, kick-off 2.15pm.
