Romaine Sawyers played 70 minutes last night as St Kitts and Nevis make it two wins from two in CONCACAF Nations League Qualifying with a thumping victory over Saint Martin.
Coming up against a nation with a population of just 36,000, St Kitts and Nevis were always expected to dominate and that was just how it turned out in Anguilla. Romaine, wearing his customary number 19, was involved in the first three of the first four goals as St Kitts led 6-0 at the interval.
Atiba Harris completed his hat-trick 20 minutes into the second-half to make it 7-0 shortly before Romaine was withdrawn. The Sugar Boyz netted three more in the final 13 minutes to complete the rout and move up to third in the 34-team table at the midway point.
The top six teams after four rounds on matches will head into Group A of the Nations League, alongside Mexico, USA, Costa Rica, Panana, Trinidad and Tobago, and Honduras and qualify for next year's Gold Cup in the USA.
Next up, St Kitts and Nevis face their toughest test of qualifying when they host Canada, ranked 55 places above them in the World Rankings, at Warner Park on Monday 19 November.
Last night's outing was Romaine's 24th for his nation in total and sixth since joining The Bees in July 2016.
Watch Romaine live at Griffin Park next week when we face Bristol City on Saturday 20 October. With our away end sold out, tickets for this game are only available to supporters with a ticket purchasing history, so don’t forget to login to your ticketing account to secure your place for this match.
