Four goals in as many games during September has seen Neal Maupay included on the four-man shortlist for the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month prize.
The second tier's leading marksman returned after the international break to net both goals in our win over Wigan Athletic at Griffin Park. Neal followed that up with another strike four days later as we drew 1-1 at Ipswich Town and was also on target last weekend during our 2-2 draw at home to Reading. Those four goals took his season's tally to nine, two clear of anyone else in the division.
The 22-year-old will be up against Blackburn Rovers' Bradley Dack, West Bromwich Albion striker Dwight Gayle, and Teemu Puki of Norwich City, with the winner announced tomorrow morning at 6am. A judging panel comprising Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman; League Managers’ Association Director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet EFL Trader Mikey Mumford will decide the winner.
It is the second time is as many months that a Brentford player has been up for the major monthly prize following Ollie Watkins' August nomination.
Help Neal Maupay remain on top of the Championship goal scorers table. Join us at our next home game when we face Bristol City on Saturday 20 October.
