Referee: Simon Hooper

Assistant RefereesRichard West and Harry Lennard

The experienced Wiltshire referee, who tried to make it as a professional footballer in his youth, first took charge of games in the EFL back in 2008 and was appointed to the Select Group 1 of Premier League referees in the summer.

During that time he has taken charge of 18 Brentford games in three divisions, only Brighton and Hove Albion have been a more frequent assignment. He was the man in charge for our unforgettable 4-1 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage in April 2015 and also refereed our 1-0 win at home to QPR three years ago yesterday.

Most recently he was in charge of our 1-1 draw at home to Middlesbrough last March, showing Romaine Sawyers a late red card, taking our tally in games he has officiated to five wins, four draws, and nine defeats.

This season, Mr Hooper has shown 25 yellow cards and one red in nine matches across five competitions.
