Loan Round-Up: Jack Bonham registers another clean sheet for Bristol Rovers

Catch-up with the latest action for our loan players this midweek

26 October 2018

It was another busy week in the EFL and Emirates FA Cup with a number of Bees involved for their loan clubs.

Jack Bonham kept a seventh clean sheet in 12 matches as Bristol Rovers ended their six-game winless run with a 2-0 victory over AFC Wimbledon at The Mem. Jack made an early save to deny Jake Jervis but other than that it was a quiet night for The Bees stopper. The two goals arrived either side of half-time as Rovers ended a month-long wait for a league goal. Ed Upson scored the opener before a Will Nightingale own-goal wrapped up the points which moved Darrell Clarke's up to 19th in Sky Bet League One ahead of tomorrow's trip to Barnsley.

In the Sky Bet Championship, Ryan Woods played the full 90 minutes as Stoke City drew 1-1 at Brammall Lane against Sheffield United. Both goals came in the final 20 minutes as Leon Clarke netted for The Blades before Joe Allen equalised with two minutes to play. The Potters are back on the road tomorrow with a trip to Ashton Gate to take on Bristol City.

Justin Shaibu came off the bench late on to help Boreham Wood past Dagenham and Redbridge in the Emirates FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round on Tuesday night. The only goal of the game came just before half-time as Manny Parry poked home from close range. Boreham Wood's reward for their replay win is a trip to Southport early next month. Before that is a National League home game against Bromley at Meadow Park tomorrow.

None of our trio of players in Sky Bet League Two were involved during the week; Tom Field and Theo Archibald were unused substitutes for Cheltenham Town and Forest Green Rovers respectively while Chiedozie Ogbene's injury prevented him from featuring against Crawley Town. This weekend Rovers and Exeter meet at St James Park while Cheltenham host Stevenage.
