Betting Preview: Brentford vs Birmingham City

Principle partners Leo Vegas Sport UK take a look at tonight's match markets

2 October 2018

The point earned against Reading on Saturday kept Brentford in sixth place, just four points off top spot. The game itself had everything: four goals, end to end action, loads of cards and a late Brentford leveller.

The character shown to come back despite being a man short was brilliant, but The Bees need to secure three points against Birmingham City tonight to continue the charge. A 1-0 home win is priced at 13/2 at LeoVegas SPORT and there are plenty of reasons to believe the win is due.

With the control The Bees had in the game, Dean Smith felt that they deserved to take three points, and the players are raring to go on Tuesday night against Birmingham, who sit in the bottom half of the Championship table, six points away from Brentford. The boys showed character and the attitude was spot on despite the multiple cautions to Brentford players and Said Benrahma’s late sending off.

Neal Maupay’s rich form continued with the opening goal, notching his ninth goal of the season, and his goalscoring exploits have been crucial to the Bees so far. We’ve got him priced at 3/1 to score the opening goal under the lights.

Birmingham’s form has been hard to predict so far, with their only league win coming against Leeds United, of all teams. They’ve drawn seven of their 10 league games, including their last outing against Ipswich over the weekend. Two defeats in all means they are a tough side to beat, but fans overall are frustrated with their lack of wins.

It’s another match under the lights at Griffin Park, and while the last four results have not gone as expected, The Bees have played much better than the results suggest. The Birmingham clash is the opportunity to get back on track before a very tough game against Leeds United.

Leo’s Prediction: Brentford 1-0 Birmingham, with odds of 13/2.

Goal scorer: Neal Maupay to continue his form and is priced at 3/1 to score first.

Top Tip: If you aggravate a Bee, it will sting – and nothing was more aggravating than that second half against Reading.
