Two Brentford B players were in action on Monday for international youth squads in Europe. Winger David Titov and midfielder Jan Zamburek played for Latvia and Czech Republic respectively.
Titov's Latvia Under-19 side lost 3-0 to Greece, with the Brentford player getting the first half after recovering from an ankle knock last week. Panagiotis Tzimas scored in the early stages before Fotios Ioannidis and Antonis Gaitanidis added goals in the second period.
Zamburek played 81 minutes at St George's Park in Burton during Czech Republic Under-18s' 2-2 draw with England. An own goal from Tomas Vicek put the hosts ahead after 21 minutes, then Bukayo Saka had a penalty saved by Czech keeper Vitezslav Jaros.
Jakub Zeronik and Felix Cejka scored soon after to put the away team in control. It took a leveller from Tyreece John-Jules in the 71st minute to get the Young Lions back in the game. After the scores remained level until the final whistle, the tie was separated by penalties. England triumphed 5-4.
Ellery Balcombe was also recalled this week following a knee injury he sustained while on duty with England Under-20s. The squad drew 1-1 with Czech Republic in his absence, West Ham's Nathan Trott stepping in between the sticks.
