With Brentford Women’s First-Team not in competitive action this weekend, the Development Team took centre stage as they made the trip to Ruislip to take on Wealdstone.
Unfortunately for the winless Bees, it was another tough afternoon with the hosts easing to a 6-0 victory. Rosie Watts was Brentford’s tormentor in chief with a hat-trick while Elisaine Castro, Sonyia Jones, and Pauldy Otermans also hit the target. Defeat sees Will Blithing’s young side remain rooted to the foot of the Greater London Women’s Football League Division Two North table after nine successive defeats.
The Bees are on the road again this Sunday, making the trip to E2 for a game against Tower Hamlets WFC.
In the absence of any competitive game, Brentford’s First-Team hosted Portsmouth at Bedfont Sports in a friendly on Sunday. The South Coast side ply their trade in the Womens National League – Southern Premier Division, five tiers above The Bees, and that class showed. The visitors ran in 11 goals: Rachel Panting hit four in the rout, while Esther Anu added a hat-trick and there was a brace each for Daisy McLachlan and Mia Adaway.
It’s Islington Borough Ladies next up on Sunday for Brentford’s Women. The game will be played at St Aloysius Playing Fields, Hurst Avenue, kick-off 2pm.
