Loan Round-Up: Two Bees exit Emirates FA Cup in midweek

The latest from our players away from Griffin Park

22 November 2018

Only one of Brentford’s three loan players in Emirates FA Cup First Round Replays made it through to Round Two this midweek.

Tom Field was an unused substitute as Cheltenham Town set up a Second-Round trip to Accrington Stanley with a 2-0 victory over Ebbsfleet United while Jack Bonham was not involved in Bristol Rovers’ 2-1 defeat to Barnet last night.

The only one of our players to see action was Theo Archibald as Forest Green Rovers crashed out at home to Oxford United on Tuesday night. Theo was withdrawn on the hour with Oxford leading 2-0 through goals from James Henry and Jamie Mackie. Marcus Browne added a third with 12 minutes to play as United avoided an upset at The New Lawn.

It’s back to league action for our six loanees this weekend. In the Sky Bet Championship Ryan Woods and Stoke City host QPR while Bristol Rovers make the trip East to Charlton Athletic in League One.

The League Two action sees Cheltenham travel to Newport County, Forest Green head to Carlisle United, and Chiedozie Ogbene’s Exeter City take on Colchester United at The JobServe Community Stadium. Meanwhile in the National League, Justin Shaibu and Boreham Wood make the long trip to the Lancashire coast to play AFC Fylde.
