Brentford rallying to end on a high
An away game at relegation threatened Barnsley as the dying embers of the season fade was always going to be a tough ask for the Bees, and with the flames of a top six finish now extinguished, Brentford play Hull City at home this weekend with next to no pressure, in the knowledge that a solid season is behind them. The only ounce of pressure comes with an appetite to end the season on a high for the fans and the Bees are priced at 4/5 to win.
A fourth consecutive top 10 finish once again proves the Bees are a Championship force to be reckoned with. Dean Smith’s men fought to the very end to achieve a play-off spot, keeping us on the edge of our seats throughout a very competitive campaign. In the end, Barnsley proved too dogged but hopefully next season the Bees can go one step further.
Dean Smith is determined not to end the season on that second half performance against Barnsley and has vowed to sharpen the sting at home this weekend.
Neal Maupay looks to have sewn up the club’s top goalscorer award and is at odds of Evens to score again this weekend, however, Ollie Watkins sits just two goals behind the Frenchman and Watkins is 13/2 to score first or 21/10 to score anytime.
One final good performance will send the fans bouncing towards the summer sunshine and Brentford can already start to build on some momentum for the much anticipated 2018/19 season where dreams can be realized once again!
Leo’s Prediction: Brentford 3-0 Hull City
Outside Punt: Home side to win both halves at 9/2
First Goal scorer: Neal Maupay at 15/4
