Moses Odubajo is likely to miss out on playing against his former club as the Hull City defender continues his recovery from a serious knee injury but one of Odubajo's teammates at Griffin Park, Jon Toral, is likely to line-up against his former side later today.
Picked up from Leyton Orient in the summer of 2014, Moses made 49 appearances for Mark Warburton’s Bees, scoring three goals, during an impressive debut season in the second tier which culminated in Play-Off defeat. Those performances caught the attention of The Tigers who signed him the following August.
His first year at the KCOM Stadium saw him play 54 times as Hull earned promotion to the Premier League. However, Moses never got the chance to prove his mettle in the top division, dislocating his knee-cap in pre-season, before suffering a series of set-backs which continue to keep him on the treatment table. The 24-year-old is currently laid low with a niggling hamstring injury as he looks to return after 23 months out.
However another of Warburton's Play-Off side may feature in the shape of Jon Toral. The Spanish midfielder spent the 2014/15 season on loan at Griffin Park from Arsenal, scoring 6 goals in 37 appearances. After spells at Birmingham City, Granada, and Rangers, where he was re-united with former boss Mark Warburton, the 22-year-old moved to Hull this summer. So far he has made just seven appearances for The Tigers but is expected to start in Bowen's absence this afternoon.
Another to have represented both clubs with distinction is Ben Burgess. Big Ben netted 17 goals in 43 league games on loan from Blackburn Rovers as Steve Coppell’s Bees side missed out on promotion in the 2002 Play-Off final at Cardiff. 11 months later, Burgess arrived at the KCOM Stadium.
He scored four goals in his first seven games and then found the net 18 times as Hull earned promotion from Division Three the following season. A cruciate-injury kept him out as City finished second in League One a year later. He found life in the second tier more difficult, scoring twice in 17 games, before moving on to Blackpool where he won two promotions in four seasons.
In total 26 players have represented both sides including Chris Hargreaves, Michael Turner, Ibrahima Sonko, and Nick Proschwitz.
