Brentford Women's FC Development Team are celebrating promotion after finishing second in the Greater London Women’s Football League Division Three North.
Nathan Mobey and Justin Ali’s side enjoyed a remarkable end to the season, winning eight of their last nine matches to steam into promotion contention. Needing just three points from their last three games to deny The Bees, rivals Alexandra Park lost all three, handing second place, and promotion, to the women from West London last Sunday.
The Bees were the league’s top scorers with 74 goals in 18 games while Shannon Read topped the individual scoring chart with 26 goals in all competitions. Nathan and Justin’s side also enjoyed an impressive run in the Sue Sharples’ Memorial Trophy, narrowly losing out to eventual Semi-Finalists Wandsworth Borough in the Last 16.
After the First-Team’s sixth-place finish, The Bees will compete in Division One and Two of the Greater London Women’s Football League next season, with matches played on Sundays around London and the South East. To find out more about getting involved with Brentford Women click here.
