Griffin Park will play host to a friendly between Brentford and Premier League side Watford ahead of the new season.
After the earlier announcement of games against Boreham Wood on Friday 6 July, kick-off 7.30pm and Wycombe Wanderers on Tuesday 17 July, kick-off 7.45pm, details for our only home friendly this pre-season have now been confirmed.
Watford will be the visitors to TW8 for a match on Saturday 28 July, kick-off 3pm. Ticket information and further match details will be announced in due course.
The Hornets finished 14th in the top flight last season under manager Javi Garcia, enjoying memorable victories over Arsenal and Chelsea along the way. The game will also see a Griffin Park return for striker Andre Gray, who struck 18 times as we made the Championship Play-Offs in 2015. It was during that season that the two sides last met, with both games ending in 2-1 wins for Watford as they went on to secure promotion to the top flight after an eight-year absence.
This announcement means that the majority of our pre-season schedule has now been confirmed. Dean Smith will be taking the group to Bavaria for a training camp from Saturday 7 July to Saturday 14 July and the plan is to end that camp with a game. More information can be seen here. Current plans are for a further away game on Saturday 21 July as well as the trips to Boreham Wood and Wycombe Wanderers. All details will be announced as soon as they are confirmed.
