Brentford B welcome Manchester City U23 to Griffin Park tomorrow, Tuesday 8 May, for the final game of their 2017/18 campaign. It's a 7pm kick-off in TW8 as Brentford B play in the First Team stadium for the third time this season, with free entry for all supporters.
Game 42 will see O'Connor's men try to end the season on a high as well as recover from a 4-3 loss they suffered in Manchester last Tuesday. The B Team fell to a narrow defeat at the Etihad Campus despite making a second-half comeback that saw them level the score at 2-2. City then seemed to find another gear and scored two quick replies.
They will sign off on a season that has seen them travel to several different countries and defeat teams from top leagues around Europe. We will have full coverage on social media and on brentfordfc.com as well as reaction from the players and staff after the match.
Kevin O'Connor spoke to Brentford FC's YouTube Channel at the Player of the Year Awards on Sunday night. He discussed the team's objectives in the final game and praised his staff and players for their work during the 17/18 term.
Kevin O'Connor has no new injury concerns, although he does have one more player to use after Ilias Chatzitheodoridis returned from his loan spell with Cheltenham Town this weekend and is eligible to play in the game at Griffin Park.
Two of the B Team squad are one appearance away from making 70 in total over the last two years: fullback Lukas Talbro and centre-back Jarvis Edobor. If Chatzitheodoridis does play, it will be his 50th app in total for Kevin O'Connor's side, while Bradley Clayton is one away from 60.
Marcus Forss is leading the way in terms of goals scored this season. He netted number 20 against City in last week's game, and goes in search of more to increase his tally further. Behind him, Theo Archibald has 14 for the season and Clayton has 11.
