Weather puts pay to Women's games this weekend

More frustration for Brentford Women's FC on Sunday

21 March 2018

Last weekend's unseasonable cold snap saw both Brentford Women's FC games called off on Sunday.

The First-Team's game against Ashford Town and the Development Team's visit from Alexandra Park, due to be played at Lampton School, both fell victim to frozen pitches.

With all games in the Greater London Women's Football League Division One called off, the First-Team still have nagging relegation worries ahead of their trip to Hampton and Richmond Borough this coming Sunday. A win for The Bees over the side one place higher than them in the table would all-but secure safety but anything less than that would leave The Bees hoping for help from elsewhere.

The Development Team take a break from their Division Three North promotion campaign this weekend when they host Wandsworth Borough in the Sue Sharples Memorial Trophy. Nathan Mobey and Justin Ali's side have lost just once in their last eight games to make progress in both league and cup. With just three league games, all against teams around them in the league, to go this campaign The Bees can still play a real part in the promotion shake-up.
