Brentford Women’s FC Development Team kept up their red-hot form in 2018 with a 6-0 victory over Hampstead Development on Sunday to stay well and truly in the Greater London Women’s Football League Division Three North promotion picture.
Shannon Read was once again the star of the show with a hat-trick. The striker now has 21 goals in 15 starts this campaign and is the division’s top marksman. Laura Palfrey, Jodie Reid, and Eilidh Short got the other goals as Justin Ali and Nathan Mobey’s side made light work of their opponents at the London Marathon Playing Fields.
The Development Team have now taken 19 points from the last 24 available and remain second in the table ahead of a potentially promotion-deciding home game against third-placed Alexandra Park at Lampton School on Sunday, kick-off 2pm.
Brentford Women’s FC First Team are also back in action at home this weekend as they host high-flying Ashford Town, kick-off 1.30pm. A win would all-but secure Division One survival but anything less and it could be a nervous end to the season for The Bees.
