Tomorrow's fixture to celebrate women at the game

Women to take centre-stage tomorrow night at Griffin Park

12 March 2018

Tuesday's Sky Bet Championship fixture against Cardiff City at Griffin Park will celebrate women at the game with a range of activities planned.

Through Brentford Women’s FC, and the Brentford FC Community Sports Trust’s work in the community, hundreds of women and girls take part in football sessions in the local area every week and that work will be celebrated tomorrow night.

There are a range of activities planned for matchday which will help to shine a spotlight on our women footballers and encourage future generations to get involved in one of the fastest growing sports in the UK.

In the build-up to the original fixture, we spoke to Brentford Women's FC First-Team captain Lisa Grant, Development Team captain Charlotte Tanner, and Brentford FC Ticketing Executive, and former Brentford and Millwall Lionesses striker Ashley Cheatley about their footballing story. Those interviews can be read by clicking above.

Tomorrow's game will see members of the Brentford Women's team join their male counterparts in the Stadium Shop and Family Area before the match to sign autographs and pose for photos. Other players will be dotted around the ground before the match to meet and greet supporters and talk about their experiences of playing for The Bees.

At half-time, the Women's team will take to the pitch for a skills demonstration while Charlotte and Lisa will be interviewed pitchside by Peter Gilham.
