A special day that celebrated the achievements of Brentford FC Community Sports Trust was held earlier this week. On Tuesday, 20 March, all 72 EFL clubs came together for a Community Day of Action. In West London, Brentford FC Community Sports Trust showcased three of their most life-changing community projects including a Short Breaks event at Osterley Sports Centre.
Brentford FC Head Coach Dean Smith, goalkeeper Daniel Bentley and midfield player Nico Yennaris were present at Osterley, along with six-year-old Isabella Romaner. The late afternoon athletics session is one of many put on as part of the project to provide much-needed respite to children with disabilities and their families. Isabella is one of thousands of local young people that the Trust helps and the Day of Action was designed to showcase this work to the wider world.
Isabella's story was one of those that the BBC looked in to as part of a piece on the day. They spoke to Isabella and her mother Victoria as part of their coverage. That piece, which highlighted the work of the Trust, can be seen on the BBC website here.
