ASPIRE, Kick It Out’s youth advisory group, are hosting a symposium for young people at Birmingham City Football Club on Saturday 14 July – with free food, drink and a chance to watch the World Cup third place play-off. Held in the Legends Lounge at St. Andrew’s Trillion Trophy Stadium, ‘Fire Up Your Football Future’ aims to offer young people aged 16-25 a chance to discuss how best to mobilise to promote equality and diversity in football.
The event, which is open to guardians and carers, will also provide guests opportunities to learn about ASPIRE members’ experience supporting Kick It Out’s youth work in the past two year, to network and speak to professionals from the football industry. Beginning at 12noon, the symposium will consist of two panels, with guests then welcome to stay for a screening of the World Cup third place play-off game that kicks off at 3pm.
Tyra, co-chair of the group, said: “ASPIRE’s symposium seeks to empower a young generation of upcoming leaders in football, by equipping them with practical tools and networks to enable them to increase inclusivity through changing a traditionally cliquey culture that has existed in the English game for years.”
Food and refreshments will be available on the day for attendees and guests. If you have any dietary, access or other requirements please email firstname.lastname@example.org by Saturday 7 July so your request can be facilitated.
