Latvia Under-19 are on the brink of winning the Baltic Cup after making it two wins from two yesterday. And that could mean an international medal for Brentford B defender David Titov. The 18-year-old is with Latvia Under-19 squad for the tournament and his team beat Lithuania 3-0 yesterday, Thursday 7 June, to make it six points from six. They will win the tournament if they avoid defeat against Finland Under-18 on Saturday.
David did not feature in the game after playing the full 90 minutes in Latvia’s first win, against Estonia, 24 hours earlier. Latvia scored early and then added two more in the final 20 minutes to ensure they got the win. Finland and Lithuania have also won one game in the tournament and either could take the trophy if Latvia lose on Saturday.
David made 24 appearances for Kevin O'Connor's B Team this season, scoring once. The defender, who joined the club in 2015, also agreed an 18-month deal in December, extending his stay in West London until summer 2019.
Meanwhile, Ellery Balcombe is in France with the England Under-21 squad. He is training with the group at the Toulon Tournament. And some of his training has been made available by the England media team
