Henrik Dalsgaard played the full 90 minutes as Denmark got their 2018 FIFA World Cup campaign up and running with a 1-0 win over Peru in Saransk.
Peru passed up a golden chance to open the scoring in the first-half but Christian Cueva blazed over from the penalty spot after VAR's intervention. The decisive moment came just before the hour as Tottenham Hotspur's Christian Eriksen found Youssef Poulsen, the RB Leipzig striker making no mistake with his close range finish.
The victory leaves Denmark and France as the leaders in Group C after Les Bleus beat Australia 2-1 earlier this afternoon. The Socceroos are next up for Henrik and The Danes in Samara next Thursday.
It was an impressive performance from Henrik, who was earning his 12th cap, in a Danish defence which has now not conceded a goal in their last five full international matches.
