The details of Brentford’s pre-season game in Germany next month have now been confirmed. The Bees will be heading to Bavaria for a training camp from Saturday 7 July to Saturday 14 July and have a game to end that trip. The game will be against Karlsruher Sport-Club Mühlburg-Phönix e.V. and will be played at the home of ASV Grassau. The game will kick-off at 1pm local time.
Karlsruher SC, as they are known, play in the third tier of German football. They have historically been a second-tier side but were one of the founding members of the Bundesliga in 1963 and were in the top flight as recently as 2009. They were relegated to the third tier at the end of the 2016/17 season and looked set to bounce back immediately but lost out in the promotion play-offs and start a second straight season in The 3. Liga in the autumn.
The match will be played at ASV Stadium, Mietenkamer Str., 57 83224, Grassau, and ASV will be organising the match on behalf of the two visiting teams. Fans are welcome to attend the game. Any ticketing information about the game will be passed on to supporters as soon as it is received but supporters are expected to be able to pay on the day. Grassau is to the South East of Munich, very close to the Austrian border. For any fans that can’t attend there will be coverage on brentfordfc.com and the Club’s social media channels with precise coverage details to follow nearer the time.
The game is part of a pre-season programme that starts in two-and-a-half week. The Bees will visit Vanarama National League Boreham Wood on Friday 6 July, before flying to Germany the following day. They will then face Wycombe Wanderers away from home on Tuesday 17 July. On Saturday 21 July, Brentford play away to Sky Bet League One Shrewsbury Town. The game will be one of two played that day with a Behind Closed Doors friendly against Premier League opposition also scheduled. The Bees end their pre-season with a game against Watford at Griffin Park on Saturday 28 July.
