As we get closer to moving to our new stadium in 2019 , we have identified the need for a wider involvement of fans to ensure that the matchday and supporter experience gives fans what they want. Guided by and working with all supporter groups we are looking to facilitate a number of Focus Groups in key areas to ensure supporters have their say and share their thoughts on what could happen before, during and after matchdays at the new stadium.
We are looking to recruit ten groups of up to 14 individuals who can actively participate in Focus Groups in the following areas:
Locations, who sits where? /Atmosphere – Who should sit where? What will the atmosphere be like in each stand and how can it be created? Will we have specific entertainment in particular stands? How should we name the stands? How important are flags, banners etc?, What works elsewhere? (We promise all areas will be clapper free!)
Technology – How can technology assist pre-match, during the match and post-match to improve fans’ experience? What entertainment and purchasing options are most important? How can we best use mobile apps?
New Stadium Events- What events do fans want as we go into the new stadium? How do we build up to the opening? What does the opening look like? What events would engineer excitement and new fans to BFC?
Farewell Griffin Park – What should we do to say farewell to Griffin Park? What do fans want to organise? How do we say goodbye and remember Griffin Park but also ensure that the legacy of Griffin Park lives on at the new stadium?
Heritage/Legacy – How do fans want to access the history of the Club and Griffin Park? What do we currently have, where is it and how can this be used?
Family Area – What do our families want/expect? How do we encourage more families to the new stadium?
Food and Beverage – What do fans want in terms of product range, pricing, and technology?
Transport – How do fans plan to travel to the new stadium? What are the biggest transport challenges? What more can we do to assist home and away fans travelling to the new stadium?
Ticketing – What are the most important considerations when it comes to ticket prices, availability, access to the ground and ticketing technology?
Inclusion – How do we ensure that the new stadium is inclusive and open to all parts of our diverse community?
We anticipate that each group will be structured as below:
- 8-12 supporters (a cross section of supporters to create and suggest ideas that could improve the supporter experience)
- 1-2 BIAS Committee members (to provide the voice and communications back into the Club for all supporters)
- 1 x BFC staff (to be present at the meetings to provide insight and legislation details where required)
Each group will involve a series of meetings, typically held at Griffin Park in the evenings. If you are interested in getting involved in one or more of these groups, please complete the following survey before 20 July.
If you are unable to complete the form online then please write, listing the groups that you would best represent with your contact details and send them to:
