If you missed the news yesterday, England youth international central defender Ezri Konsa has joined us on three-year contract, with an option for an extra year. The 20-year-old finalised a move from Charlton Athletic for an undisclosed fee and signed for The Bees just after helping England Under-21 win the prestigious Toulon Tournament in France. He made his Under-21 debut in that tournament and featured in the Semi-Final win over Scotland. Ezri came through the ranks at Charlton and was in the England team that won the Under-20 World Cup 12 months ago.
Ezri made his Charlton debut before his 19th birthday and has been a regular for the Sky Bet League One side for the past two seasons. He has racked up 86 appearances in all competitions over the past two seasons and played for Charlton in both their League One Play-Off games against Shrewsbury Town last month. He made his first England appearance in the Under-20 World Cup Semi-Final and was part of the group that took the trophy by beating Venezuela in the Final. In total he played five games at Under-20 level for his country. In total, Ezri has seven international appearances to his credit. Some of the images from Ezri's career so far are above.
