The festive season was nothing but a success for Brentford B after the previous two months had seen mixed results. Two wins and a draw from three, and it started with a trip to Barnet to play the other Bees. That match was also special because of the starting lineup, which included Alan Judge for the first time in over a year and a half.
He took no time at all to get back to scoring form, taking an early penalty kick to help secure a confident performance under Kevin O'Connor. As he told iFollow after the match: "I just had to make sure I didn't miss. I have a habit of doing that but I'm delighted. I just wanted to get a goal and anything else that brings the confidence on."

After that, The Bees returned home to host their last two opponents of the 2017 calendar year; Wolverhampton Wanderers and Manchester City.
Wolves came to Jersey Road and were met by an even more determined Alan Judge. Coming off of his 45 minutes at Barnet, the Irishman was itching to get more game time and test himself. Meanwhile, the players around him were benefitting greatly from his experience and professionalism on and off the pitch.
On it, Brentford emerged 2-1 winners of a tight game that saw goalkeeper Ellery Balcombe save a penalty. Joe Hardy gave The Bees the lead in the first half before Herson Rodrigues Alves pounced on a second. The old gold did what they could to get back in the game but only conjured up a single response.
Manchester City were the final guests to West London before the end of the year, and in some ways the most frustrating. After taking the lead through Theo Archibald and Marcus Forss, the last five minutes of the game saw City snatch a draw with two quick goals.
While it was a painful moment for the team and the coaching staff, it put an end to the B Team's first unbeaten month since August. Up next, the squad were due for a double-header with Reading that saw the biggest win of Kevin O'Connor's tenure.
