Brentford’s pre-season friendly fixtures start four weeks from today. The Bees will be playing five friendlies that fans can watch and the first will be on Friday July 6 against Boreham Wood. The game will kick-off at 7.30pm and will be followed by a training camp in Germany and four more games before the season starts on the weekend of Saturday 4 August 2018.
This will be the fifth season in six that Brentford have played Boreham Wood in pre-season, and the sixth year in seven overall. Brentford won an FA Cup First Round tie at Meadow Park in 2012 and then played friendly games in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016. Boreham Wood won the last meeting between the sides 2-1 in July 2016.
Dean Smith will then be taking his side to Bavaria for a training camp from Saturday 7 July to Saturday 14 July and the plan is to end that camp with a game. More information will follow when the match is confirmed. The Bees will then play Wycombe Wanderers away from home on Tuesday 17 July and travel to Shrewsbury Town on Saturday 21 July.
Brentford will end pre-season with a match against Watford at Griffin Park on Saturday 28 July. This game will be The Bees only home match of the pre-season and will kick-off at 3pm. Ticket information for the game will follow in due course.
