Theo Archibald netted his fourth goal of pre-season as Forest Green Rovers beat Wrexham 3-2 in their final warm-up game ahead of the new campaign.
The trip to North Wales on Saturday saw Theo make his eighth appearance since joining Forest Green on a season-long loan earlier this month. Joseph Mills opened the scoring for the Green Devils with 41 minutes on the clock before Mike Fondop levelled for the Welsh side shortly after the break.
Theo then made it 2-1 midway through the second-half as he swept home Scott Laird's cutback through a crowd of bodies. The hosts refused to lie down and were level again thanks to Luke Summerfield's penalty late penalty. Rovers finally managed to put the game to bed inside the final five minutes as George Williams fired home after Dayle Grubb had struck a post.
Saturday's victory was Rovers' fourth of pre-season as they get set to start their Sky Bet League Two campaign away at Grimsby Town next Saturday.
Reece Cole was also in action over the weekend, making his debut for Yeovil Town during their 3-0 victory over Corby Town. Dominating proceedings against their Northern Premier League opponents Jordan Green's strike separated the two sides at the break. Diallang Jaiyesimi scored a well-taken solo goal just after the restart before substitute Korrey Henry netted with his first touch to make it 3-0 on the hour.
Reece was introduced shortly before the third goal, playing half an hour on his debut for The Glovers. Yeovil are in action again tonight against Gillingham Town before getting their League Two campaign underway with a trip to Gigg Lane
