Theo Archibald played an hour on Saturday as Forest Green Rovers beat higher-division opposition in their latest pre-season outing.
Bristol Rovers were the visitors to The New Lawn with the only goal of the game coming just seven minutes in; Christian Doidge netting from the spot after he had been fouled inside the area by Rovers keeper Adam Smith. It was a match of few clear-cut chances, the best of which fell to Gas midfielder Tom Nichols who shot wide when presented with an open goal late on in the first-half.
Theo was replaced by Dayle Grubb a quarter of an hour into the second-half. bringing to an end his sixth appearance for the Gloucestershire outfit since joining at the start of the month. Rovers have three more pre-season outings this week ahead of the new Sky Bet League Two campaign. First up is a trip to Hereford on Wednesday evening. They then visit Shortwood Town on Friday before a game at The Racecourse Ground against Wrexham on Saturday.
