Konstantin Kerschbaumer played the full 90 minutes as DSC Arminia Bielefeld beat KRC Genk 2-0 in a mid-season friendly in Benidorm on Thursday: Andreas Voglsammer and Tom Schütz the men on target in the opening period. The on-loan Bees midfielder was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet too, with his well-struck first-half shot cannoning off the post and away to safety. The 2.Bundesliga season returns in a fortnight’s time but before then Kerschbaumer and DSC have one final warm-up game against Rot-Weiss Essen next Friday.
It’s back to league action after last Saturday’s Emirates FA Cup heroics for Jack Bonham and Carlisle United as The Cumbrians host Crewe Alexandra at Brunton Park in Sky Bet League Two tomorrow.
