Brentford fans are reminded that the latest batch of Sky Bet Championship fixtures moved for television coverage will be announced in the coming days. The EFL announced at the end of 2017 that games televisions on the weekends of 17 February, 24 February and 3 March would be announced after games in The Emirates FA Cup Third Round had been played. Games televised on the midweek of February 20 and 21 will also be announced in the next few days.
Supporters should also note that it is not only television coverage that could cause fixtures to move between now and the end of the season. The Bees are due to entertain Norwich City on Saturday 27 January but this game is subject to FA Cup commitments. Norwich will face Premier League champions Chelsea in a Third Round Replay next week and should the Championship side win, they are likely to be in FA Cup Fourth Round action on the weekend of 27 January so the game at Griffin Park will be moved.
Brentford’s opponents on FA Cup Fifth Round day, Sunderland, are out of the competition – losing to Middlesbrough on Saturday. However, Middlesbrough are due to visit Griffin Park on Sixth Round day so Bees fans may be looking out for who they play when the Fourth Round draw is made this evening. Brentford’s West London derby against Queens Park Rangers is scheduled for Semi-Final weekend.
