The reported £10 million sale of Alex Pritchard to Huddersfield Town earlier this transfer window means no member of The Canaries side has links to The Bees ahead of tomorrow's game.
It's a different story on the Brentford side as Sergi Canos prepares to come up against his former employers. The Spaniard endured a difficult six-month spell at Carrrow Road last season, where he made just six competitive appearances under then boss Alex Neil, before returning to Griffin Park on Deadline Day a year ago. Since rejoining The Bees, Sergi has featured 35 times, scoring five goals.
Looking further back in time two members of our 1991/92 Division Three promotion winning side have strong links to tonight’s opponents. Midfielder Simon Ratcliffe spent two years with The Canaries in the top flight between 1987 and 1989 before moving to Griffin Park. With The Bees, Simon racked up 268 appearances and 16 goals over six years, winning promotion in 1992 and making the Play-Offs again in 1995.
Another of that promotion winning team to have spent time at Carrow Road is Chris Hughton. The left-back took over the position at the end of the promotion run-in in 1992 and went on to make 41 appearances in just under a year with The Bees. He retired into coaching with Tottenham Hotspur before taking over as City manager in 2012. He led The Canaries to an 11th-place finish in the Premier League during his first season but was sacked less than a year later with Norwich battling relegation again.
Others to have worn the colours of both teams include Tom Adeyemi, Carl Cort, Efan Ekoku, Lewis Grabban, Stuart Nelson, Gerry Peyton, and Robert Taylor.
