Pedalling Bees gearing up for London to Amsterdam Bike Ride

Bees fans taking on 145-mile charity bike ride for Prostate Cancer UK

7 February 2018

It is just a short hop across the English Channel by plane but two Brentford fans will be joining hundreds of others in finding a more scenic route between London and Amsterdam this June.

Third generation Bees fan Jon Seaman and honorary French Bee Tony Bonte are preparing to take on this year's edition of the London to Amsterdam bike ride for Prostate Cancer UK. Beginning on Friday 1 June from the Lee Valley VeloPark, the duo will join 400 other cyclists, from football clubs up and down the country, pedalling the 145 miles to the finish-line at Ajax's Amsterdam ArenA the following evening.

Backed by the EFL and the League Managers Association, the London to Amsterdam Bike Ride has become an integral part of football's fight against a disease which kills one man every 45 minutes. Last year 380 riders completed the route, raising £600,000 which could fund research to revolutionise the way we diagnose and treat prostate cancer.
