There was one win, one draw and one defeat for Brentford’s loanees during last weekend’s round of EFL fixtures.
Jack Bonham was at the centre of the action during Carlisle United’s 4-3 defeat to high-flying Wycombe Wanderers. With The Cumbrians trailing by two goals to one, Bonham saved Joe Jacobson's spot-kick. It looked to be crucial, as Jamie Devitt's equalising header was followed by Cole Stockton's goal from James Brown's free-kick. But there was an incredible late twist as Paris Cowan-Hall's diving header levelled the match before Marcus Bean's volley secured a dramatic turnaround for The Chairboys.
Also in Sky Bet League Two, Ilias Chatzitheodoridis played just over an hour as Cheltenham Town salvaged a late draw at Grimsby Town. The equalising goal came after the defender’s withdrawal; Will Boyle turning home from close range to cancel out Simeon Jackson’s opener.
In Sky Bet League One, Justin Shaibu made his second substitute appearance for Walsall, replacing Amadou Bakayoko with 66 minutes on the clock during a single-goal victory over Milton Keynes Dons. Fellow loanee forward Julien Ngoy fired home in the 70th minute to move Walsall four points clear of the relegation places.
Elsewhere, Konstantin Kerschbaumer’s Arminia Bielefeld were last in action on Monday 29 January; the former Austria Under-19 international playing the full 90 minutes during his side’s 1-0 victory over VfL Bochum.
