Brentford Women’s FC First-Team slipped to a 2-1 defeat at home to Hampton and Richmond Borough Ladies FC on Sunday while Brentford Development Team lifted themselves off the bottom with their first points of the campaign.
Michaela Herrmann netted her first goals of the season for The Beavers as they took the points at Bedfont Sports: Becca Wiltshire’s reply not enough for Justin Ali and Nathan Mobey’s side. Defeat, a seventh in nine Greater London Women’s Football League Division One matches, leaves The Bees in seventh ahead of their trip to Gander Green Lane to take on top-of-the-table Sutton United on Sunday, kick-off 2.30pm.
For the Development Team, it’s been a tough campaign so far in Division Two North following promotion but Will Blithing’s side had something to smile about on Sunday after beating Clapham United Reserves 4-3 on Clapham Common.
Shannon Read took her tally to five in two games with a brace while Courtney Jane Woolley and Megan Harris got the other goals in South-West London. The Development Team’s first points of the campaign lifted them above Camden Town and off the bottom.
They now have a fortnight break until they are next in action, hosting third from bottom Larkspur Rovers at Bedfont Sports on Sunday 16 December, kick-off 2.15pm.
