Match Preview: Brescia Calcio vs Brentford B

Bees face first Italy tour match in Coccaglio

5 December 2018

This afternoon, Brentford B take on a team from Brescia Calcio in the Italian village of Coccaglio.

Kevin O'Connor's side last faced European action in Switzerland, when they played against Grasshopper Club Zurich. The Bees emerged victorious with a 2-0 win on that day, thanks to goals from Canice Carroll and Joe Hardy.

Today's team will be without Finnish youngster Jaakko Oksanen, missing with an ankle injury picked up against Met Police FC last week. Jarvis Edobor misses his first tour with the B Team, moving on loan to Maidstone United this month until January.

The Biancoazzurri are a team from Serie B in the Italian league system, a record-holder for number of season in the division after 61 years of second-tier football. They have won the competition three times; 1964-65, 1991-92 and 1996-97. They are currently coached by former player Eugenio Corini, previously employed at both Palermo and Chievo. Twice the side have reached the Intertoto Cup, twice led by legendary attacker Roberto Baggio.
