Peter Bankes to take charge tomorrow

Match Officials confirmed for visit to Birmingham City

28 December 2018

Referee: Peter Bankes

Assistant Referees: Geoffrey Russell and Robert Merchant

Fourth Official: Michael Salisbury

This is Peter Bankes' sixth season as an EFL referee, having taken charge of his first game in February 2014.

The Merseyside official has officiated six previous Brentford games. His first was our 3-0 win at Nottingham Forest in April 2016 before he oversaw a 1-1 draw with Sheffield Wednesday, which saw both sides finish with ten men, and our 5-1 Emirates FA Cup win over Eastleigh the following campaign.

Last season, he took charge of our home draw against Bristol City and our defeat at Derby County, where an early red card for Sergi Canos set The Bees en route to a 3-0 defeat in the East Midlands. His only Brentford outing this season was September's 2-1 home win against Nottingham Forest which saw 12 bookings.

So far this season, Bankes has taken charge of 21 matches, showing 96 yellow cards and three reds in the process.
