Brentford striker Neal Maupay will miss the next three games after accepting a charge of violent conduct. The Club was contacted this morning and informed by the Football Association that Neal was charged following an incident in the 42nd minute of the game against Aston Villa yesterday, Wednesday 22 August, that was not seen by the match officials but caught on video. After reviewing the footage, Neal has accepted the charge and will be suspended for three matches. He will miss the games against Blackburn Rovers, on Saturday, Cheltenham Town, next Tuesday, and Nottingham Forest.
Dean Smith, Brentford FC Head Coach, said: “I reviewed the incident with Neal and spoke to him this morning. He understands the severity of his action and that he will be suspended for three games. We did not want to prolong the process so have accepted the charge immediately.”
