Theo Archibald made his first league start for Forest Green Rovers as they drew 0-0 at home to Stevenage on Tuesday night.
After appearing off the bench in Rovers’ first two Sky Bet League Two games, Archibald came into the starting XI as Mark Cooper’s side extended their unbeaten run to five games in all competitions at the start of the campaign. In a game dominated by the home side, the on-loan Bees winger had a great chance to open the scoring on the hour, only to see his close range shot repelled by Paul Farman. Theo was withdrawn five minutes later as both sides ultimately settled for a point in Gloucestershire. Next up for Rovers is a home game against fellow fast starters Swindon Town on Saturday.
With Reece Cole back in action at Griffin Park for Brentford B against AFC Bournemouth’s Under-23, Yeovil Town played out a drab 0-0 draw at home to Oldham Town on Tuesday. The Glovers’ Omar Sowunmi had the best of the game’s limited chances but found Daniel Iversen equal to his first-half header. The point leaves Town in 12th ahead of their game against Stevenage at Huish Park this weekend.
Justin Shaibu and Ellery Balcombe also return to action this weekend in the National League as Boreham Wood host FC Halifax Town.
