Ezri Konsa will be hoping to help secure England's passage through to the 2019 UEFA European Under-21 Championships as he joins up with Aidy Boothroyd's squad for two qualifiers next week.
The Young Lions host The Netherlands at Carrow Road on Thursday 6 September, kick-off 7.45pm, before travelling to the Zemgales Olimpiskais Centrs, Jelgava, to take on Latvia on Tuesday 11 September, kick-off 5pm. Topping Group 4 by five points, with just four games to play, a pair of victories will ensure England's qualification for the finals in Italy next June.
The 20-year-old has been named in the matchday squad for England's last five Under-21 matches, earning two caps, to add to his five at Under-20 level. Ezri was part of the victorious England squad at last summer's Under-20 World Cup in South Korea and has played every minute so far of The Bees’ Sky Bet Championship campaign following his summer arrival from Charlton Athletic.
The defender’s inclusion takes the number of international call-ups for The Bees this month into double figures. From the First-Team squad Henrik Dalsgaard, Alan Judge, Chris Mepham, Kamohelo Mokotjo, and Romaine Sawyers will all be away with their nations next week as well as B Team players Patrik Gunnarsson, Jonny Mitchell, Jaakko Oksanen, David Titov.
