Ollie Watkins takes Fanscore Man of the Match prize

Winger takes award, in association with Fuller's, after win over Ipswich Town

8 April 2018

Ollie Watkins picked up another Fanscore Man of the Match award, in association with Fuller's, after Saturday's 1-0 win over Ipswich Town.

It was a hard-fought game for The Bees as Mick McCarthy's Ipswich Town came to Griffin Park. Neither side were able to create much in an attacking sense until Brentford were giving a helping hand with 20 minutes to play. Tractor Boys defender Jonas Knudsen's shove on Sergi Canos was spotted by the referee; Neal Maupay stepped up to score from the spot.

Victory means The Bees remain five points off the Play-Off places with five games to play. His 12th goal of the season saw Neal take 22 per cent of the Fanscore vote but he was beaten to the Man of the Match prize by Ollie Watkins.

Earlier this season we launched an all-new predictor game on the Official Brentford FC club app. The new predictor, which can be accessed from the club app, asks fans to pick the result from all Sky Bet Championship games played over the weekend with points on offer for correct scores.
