One month ago tomorrow, Brentford FC broke ground on a new stadium. A ground-breaking ceremony was held on 19 March to mark the preparations for the start of construction on the new Brentford Community Stadium and enabling residential development. The full story about the ceremony can be seen here and a summary of the work since can be seen here.
The Muttitt family broke ground on the stadium and our cameras followed their day. Our cameras also caught some of the other action on the day and there were two galleries of pictures that can be seen here and here. Brentford FC Chairman Cliff Crown made a speech to introduce the day and others who spoke on the day included Head Coach Dean Smith, B Team Head Coach Kevin O'Connor and players John Egan, Ollie Watkins and Tom Field.
The Club welcomed a wide range of media to the event. Bees United, the Brentford Supporters' Trust, produced a video of the event and there was also a Beesotted podcast rounding up the day. Other media coverage included Get West London, Chiswick Buzz, Sky Sports News and BBC London. Fans and others also reported on the day on social media.
