Brentford B have travelled north to Manchester to face a City youth team tomorrow, Tuesday 1 May, at the Etihad Campus. It’s a 10.30am kick-off as the B Team play their penultimate game of the campaign.
Game number 41 of the season, not including behind closed doors games, sees the squad go in search of their second successive win. They are also on a run of eight wins in their last nine, only suffering a defeat to Braga in Portugal.
Last time out the B Team emerged 3-2 winners against FC Porto U19 in Valdevez. Marcus Forss, Theo Archibald and Reece Cole scored the goals as Porto fought back in the second half. Despite heavy pressure on Ellery Balcombe’s goal, he stood firm and kept his team in the lead with some important saves.
Theo Archibald spoke to iFollow after the win in Portugal and gave his thoughts on the upcoming double-header finale to the season.
He said: “I think if you look back to tour number one and tour number two, it’s clear to see we’ve come on leaps and bounds with trying to work with the referees and adapting to the way foreign teams play rather than English teams.
“I think the season’s been great, all the tours have been good and we’re looking forward to getting another two victories against Manchester City hopefully.”

Henrik Johansson will miss the final two games of the season with a muscle injury picked up in training. Reece Cole hasn’t travelled with the squad either and will miss the match tomorrow. Joe Hardy missed the trip to Portugal but is included in the squad that will face his old side in the morning.
Marcus Forss netted his 18th goal of the campaign against Porto and could be aiming for 20 in total before the final game on Tuesday 8 May. That would cement his place as the all-time leading B Team scorer, while Reece Cole and Herson Rodrigues Alves both trail behind on 16.
Bradley Clayton, who has captained the side in the absence of Zain Westbrooke, is closing in on 60 total appearances for Brentford B. Currently on 58, minutes in both City ties would see him hit that target.
Leading the apps chart, centre-back Jarvis Edobor is one off making 70 in total for Brentford B, while being closely followed by Lukas Talbro on 68 so far.
