Brentford's defensive duo of Andreas Bjelland and Henrik Dalsgaard played the full 90 minutes as Denmark thrashed Poland in last night's 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Telia Parken, Copenhagen.
Thomas Delaney opened the scoring after 15 minutes and former Cardiff City striker Andreas Cornelius made it 2-0 three minutes before the break. Nicolai Jørgensen added a third on the hour with Christian Eriksen wrapping up Denmark's biggest-ever competitive victory over Poland late on. The win closes the gap between The Danes and Poland to three points at the summit of Group E ahead of Monday's trip to Armenia. The game saw Andreas win his 24th, and Henrik his fifth, international caps.
In Praia, Kamohelo Mokotjo was a second-half substitute as South Africa suffered a damaging defeat to Cape Verde in their latest World Cup Qualifier. All the goals came in the opening 38 minutes: Nuno Rocha scoring twice in quick succession for the home side after Tokelo Rantie had given Bafana Bafana an early lead. Kamo was introduced after an hour to earn his seventh cap as South Africa drop to second in Group D ahead of Tuesday's return fixture in Durban.
