Brentford B defender Mads Beck Sørensen has been called up for international duty. The defender, who has been on the First Team substitute’s bench this season, will be part of the Denmark Under-19 squad for three games next month. He will link up with his national squad on Saturday for the first round of UEFA European Under-19 Championship qualifying matches.
Denmark have three games in six days as they look to progress to the tournament. They face Latvia, San Marino and Croatia on November 8, 11 and 14 respectively. The other teams also face each other over that period and the top two teams in that four-team group will progress to the next stage. Further games will then be played in March to decide which teams reach the finals in Finland next summer.
Mads has been a mainstay for his national team and has played for Denmark at Under-18 and Under-19 level. He has played six games at Under-19 level and has 13 caps for his country in total. Fellow Brentford B defender Lukas Talbro was also named in the squad but has had to withdraw through injury.
