Three Bees in midweek action

Catch up with the fortunes of our loan players in the latest round of fixtures

19 October 2017

There was a full programme of action in Sky Bet Leagues One and Two as well as a series of Emirates FA Cup replays with three Bees in action this midweek.

Jack Bonham played the full 90 minutes as Carlisle United saw victory snatched from them in injury-time at home to Wycombe Wanderers. Reggie Lambe and Jamie Devitt put The Cumbrians in control early on but former Bee Sam Saunders pulled one back just before the break with a trademark free-kick. Adebayo Akinfenwa levelled with 15 minutes to go but Lambe looked to have won it when he made it 3-2 in the dying stages. However, deep into injury-time, Paris Cowan-Hall rose highest to plant a header past Jack from close range. The point leaves Keith Curle's side 15th in League Two with a visit from high-flying Notts County coming up on Saturday.

Zain Westbrooke made his second appearance since joining Leyton Orient as The Os set up an Emirates FA Cup First Round tie at Gillingham by beating Dagenham and Redbridge 1-0 on Tuesday night. The two sides had drawn 0-0 on Saturday and it was another tight affair at The Matchroom Stadium with Macauley Bonne's first-half goal all that separated the teams after 180 minutes. Zain was introduced in injury-time to help see out the win but will be hoping for more playing time on Saturday as National League leaders Macclesfield Town head to E10.

In Sky Bet League One, Tom Field was left out of the 18 as Bradford City drew 1-1 at home to in-form Oldham Athletic. Both goals came in the opening 25 minutes: Paul Taylor firing The Bantams ahead from long-range before Eoin Doyle's coolly taken equaliser levelled things. The point sees Bradford remain in third place, five points off the automatic promotion places, with Charlton Athletic the visitors to Valley Parade on Saturday.
