Goalkeeper Jack Bonham was an unused substitute as Carlisle United were beaten 1-0 by Leicester City Under-21s in Tuesday's Checkatrade Trophy tie.
Layton Ndukwu scored the only goal of the game with a crisp finish after twenty minutes. Tom Parkes hit a post for the home side and Reggie Lambe was brilliantly denied by visiting goalkeeper Max Bramley late on but the young Foxes held on to register the win at Brunton Park. The points move City level with United in Group A ahead of the final round of fixtures.
Jack was replaced as one of eight changes from The Cumbrians 1-0 Sky Bet League Two win over Crawley Town on Saturday and he will be looking for a recall when Keith Curle's side host Exeter City on Saturday. Tom Field will be the only other Bee involved over the international weekend as Bradford City travel to MK Dons in League One.
