Jan Novak took just 43 seconds to score against AC Milan on Saturday. Here the winger took some time to sit down with iFollow on Tuesday and discuss the Italy tour so
"This was a great goal," Jan said. "I think it motivated us. If you score first then you are in control of the game and it's easier to play. I was pushing myself even more and it became easier for me after that.
"A scoreline of 4-3 looks nice but we could have done more. We had chances, we could have scored and finished the game at half time really. After that, we switched off in the second half and they had chances to win the game. We held out, and we won the game."
After just under a week on tour in Italy, Jan described to iFollow how he felt after the majority of the trip had passed.
"It's been nice," he said. "The weather is fine, Italy is a nice country. The training has been good, it's not been too hard because of the three games. We are just preparing for the games and not stretching too hard. Overall, it's been nice out in Italy."
The Slovenian youth international was then asked about his time at Brentford so far, arriving in January of this year. He told us how his first ten months at the Club have been.
"I think it's been good," he said. "At first I didn't play so many games, but now I keep getting the opportunity. This includes matches in Italy and I hope I have done well. I want to do more in the future and hopefully get even more opportunities to show what I can do."
Jan also commented on the visit to the San Siro on Sunday afternoon, where the B Team watched AC Milan's First Team play out a nil-nil draw with Genoa.
"It was amazing," he said. "It is such a big stadium. You just look at it in awe. There are so many fans and it was amazing to see. It was a great experience for all of us."
Looking ahead to the Inter Milan match, Jan said: "I think it will be just as hard as the other games. We think they will play the same way as AC Milan, the two sides don't seem very different at that level. We will prepare like every game, tactically, and I'm looking forward to it."
